Was your American flight canceled?
Apr 11 2008, 1:56 PM EDT Were you among the 250,000 passengers affected by last week’s flight cancellations at American Airlines? If so, were you able to get rebooked in a timely manner? Tell us about your experience. Whom do you blame for the debacle – American or the FAA (see this week’s story)? Post your comments here. Do you find this valuable? |

RE: Was your American flight canceled?
Apr 14 2008, 10:16 AM EDT Yes and it was total chaos. Being platinum meant nothing. There were very few seats on any of the other airlines to go around for the thousands of travelers stranded. But what I love best about the entire fiasco is that American posted a message on its web site stating you could change your tickets without penalty for a flight on a future date. Sounds good except when you do the math. If you simply cancel the flight for a future one with AA, they are not out the cost of putting you on another airlinee, hotels, prepaid rental cars from priceline or hotwire or out of pocket expenses that consumers will be demanding as a result of their mess. RE: Was your American flight canceled?
Apr 14 2008, 10:59 AM EDT Fortunately I wasn't traveling last week... but it's frightening how lax maintenance seems to have become. Shouldn't that type of "security" be considered of highest importance? Do you find this valuable? |
