Have airline employees treated you badly?
Jun 20 2008, 1:51 PM EDT The newest annual J.D. Power survey on airline customer satisfaction found that passengers’ biggest complaint is the way they are treated by airline personnel (see this week’s story). What about you? What’s the worst treatment you’ve experienced at the hands of an airline employee in recent months, whether at the airport or in-flight? Post your comments here. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. RE: Have airline employees treated you badly?
Jun 23 2008, 6:05 PM EDT We flew on United from Tamps to Sydney Australia for a conference. There had been bad weather two days prior so we checked by phone and were assured everything was fine. We got to the airport and found our flight was delayed due to the planes not being back in the right places from the previous bad weather. Since we were on an international connection the person at the counter put us on a Delta flight. We got on that plane and it didn't take off - engine trouble. Delta wouldn't help us so we had to go back through security to the United counter where the terrible lines continued. I was told to go to the end of the line and refused saying I had an international flight connection. I stood at the beginning of the line and got 'service' by a rude and incompetent person who told me he couldn't get me a flight until the next day to LA and then couldn't get me on the flight to Sydney for a week! Then the original person who waiting on us came out of the back and had a new flight arranged for us with a different routing. I looked at the other guy and he just shrugged. She was definitely the bright spot in a disgusting experience. We ran back through security and caught the flight. The connection in SFO was another mess with surly gate attendants. When we got to Sydney our luggage was missing and did not arrive for 3 days. It's the rudeness and not giving a damn that gets to you! 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

RE: Have airline employees treated you badly?
Jun 24 2008, 1:21 AM EDT Just the right time to write it in here. I just flew from PVD to YOW through PHL. Philly is hit badly by bad weather and there were delays all over with US Airways. With my Elite with Singapore Airlines, I managed to get to the front to obtain my boarding pass but being and cross border and international flight, I needed the checking agent to help me. I approach the agent and was told to get back in line with the economy passengers. I explained to her about my status and also that I was already in line at the Elite line previously but was told to get back in line. I did and basically no other people in the Elite line and she had to eventually help me out. I know everyone is stressed out with flight delays but I believe US Airways do need to educate their ground agents on how to deal with customers. This is not the first bad experience I have with US Airways ground staff. 90% of the time I dealt with them, they are always rude. I believe they should not belong to Star Alliance since all other members of that alliance group has treated me extremely well when I needed help but not US Airways. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. RE: Have airline employees treated you badly?
Jun 24 2008, 10:24 AM EDT Employees on airlines are typically very nice and work hard/ But-Flight from DC to Boston via MESA (flying for united) on April 10, 2008 - we never got off the ground and I left the airport in disgust over MESA and United-not the airport itself. It almost crashed upon takle off-veered off runway, we sat on the plane for 2 hours, it was 5 hours late roughly and wehn we came back to get off the plane at the gate-the employee/MANAGER of MESA was rude, nasty and arrogant to many. of us yelling to go into some area so we could re-board-which never happened with anyone as they did not believe what happened and we thanked God we were alive . 20+ people including me complained to the police as this crazy supposed supervisor called them and they were very nice and knew who had the bull. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. The gate agents sometimes can not do anything. I haev had bad experiences with most major airlines at one time or another but US Airways tops the list as far as consistenly losing my luggage, cancelling flights at the last minute or after hours of delay and not informing us. I avoid them when I can but sometimes they are the only service and so I am stuck as I have been at several airports due to their maintenance and personel issues, They rank the best at losing luggage-especially in PHILLY. I checked in 2 hours early for a flight, checked in one bag for a direct flight and it was lost! yeah they delver it at 4 in the morning and leave it on my porch but if I am on my way to a meeting and have good clothes packed for a meeting-I have to carry on everything which does not work when I travel for 2 or more days. They stink there. Most of their employees are nice-it is the system somewhere that failes 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |
