a bit confusing

nice piece. but rare isn't in a gentrifying part of the city or an ignored neighborhood at all. it's right in midtown. it's a bit confusing that you began your review focused on the old 4th ward and its charms / businesses, then talk about rare which is on a decidely more upscale thoroughfare; and wisteria which is in inman park. would have been nice if you'd focused more on harlem bar, javaology, u space gallery, p'cheen any of those other businesses in O4W....

actually rare ISNT in what's considered midtown. its in a regentrifying neighborhood near the heart of downtown -- and the old fourth. i think the point of the piece is that atlanta, which is so known for logos and boosterism, is not only coming back in these intown neighborhoods, but re-embracing its oft-ignored southern charms in other neighborhoods too.

inman park's on the east side of the old fourth. and wisteria's within a five minute drive of the neighborhood. a lot of "inman park" businesses are saying they're in the old fourth -- just look at all that stuff like parish that's cropped up along north highland. i think this is about how this general part of town is coming back in a big way.

Rare is in an upscale neighborhood? Then why did i drive past there one night and see a drug deal a block away? I'd hardly call that upscale.
