What's your favorite travel app?
Jul 30 2010, 10:32 AM EDT | Post edited: Jul 30 2010, 10:32 AM EDT
American Airlines has come out with a new iPhone app for travelers (see this week’s story), a week after the TSA launched its own new app. What’s your favorite iPhone or smart phone app while you’re on the road – and why? What kind of travel-related app would you like to see that doesn’t exist today? Post your comments here. Do you find this valuable?

I actually downloaded "FlightTrack" for my Android and absolutely LOVE it!! The updates are DEAD-ON (I've tested it). Anytime ANY information changes about a flight segment (times, gate changes, etc) you get notified immediately. I was actually watching the status of a flight of a friend coming into town and it actually shows altitude (which many online apps do) but you can see the altitude increase/decrease as the plane ascends/descends. Love it! 1  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

I use TripIt and FlightTrack Pro the most. TripIt allows me to carry my itinerary info electronically, I no longer have to print hardcopy of my travel arrangements. FlightTrack Pro provides near real time flight and gate updates, which is invaluable. I know before I step off the jet where my next flight departs from. I also use TravelTrackPro to keep my itineraries. GateGuru is terrific when I'm at a new airport and want to find food, ATM, etc; or just jog my memory about an infrequent airport I travel to. The last one is MagicHour which is a world clock, but provides more info than the clocks in the iPhone. 1  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?
