Have you ever experienced major jet lag malaise? Do you have any tricks, tips or advice for avoiding its ill effects? Do you find this valuable?

I have never tried anything such as melatonin nor sleeping pills in order to minimise jet lag effects.
Before a long flight, I do my best to ensure a good night sleep.
On the flight, I try to drink more water than I usually do to avoid dehydration and take a few walks around the aircraft.
Finally, whenever it’ s possible, I take a nap on arrival.

I believe it's fairly easy... for long haul flights get a good night's sleep beginning 2-3 in advance. The day of, don't rush to/thru the airport, check-in, TSA, etc...while on the flight stay hydrated, get up and walk around and perform stretch circulation routines.

If you're arriving in the morning DO sleep on the flight (in between walks and hydration) and if you're arriving at night DO NOT sleep on the flight (keep busy).
