The fate of Midwest Airlines
Aug 20 2007, 10:18 AM EDT TPG Capital’s new acquisition agreement for Midwest Airlines includes language that could permit an eventual sale of the carrier to Northwest Airlines, a minority investor. Do you think Midwest Airlines should remain independent; should eventually become merged into Northwest; or should have been sold to AirTran Airways? Post your comments here. Aug 22 2007, 3:00 PM EDT I think the Midwest Airlines' markets are not served sufficiently by enough competitive airlines to provide fair pricing and service. Northwest has always charged outrageous fares between MSP and ORD....sometimes twice the cost of going NYC-LAX. I would not like to see the Midwest markets move into price gouging tactics so let's hope they can remain independent and solvent. Do you find this valuable? |
